EBAA calls business aviation operators to contribute to Commission's Consultation on a Flight Emission Label
The European Commission has launched a consultation on a voluntary flight emission labelling scheme. EBAA encourages its members to review the proposal and share feedback, as the current approach poses technical challenges for business aviation operators.
On 24th September, the European Commission opened a consultation for aviation stakeholders to gather feedback on a proposal aimed at creating a voluntary labelling scheme to disclose emissions information to passengers. This feedback will be considered in finalising the initiative. However, we recognise that the draft text, as it currently stands, takes an approach primarily suited for scheduled flights, which would present significant technical challenges for business aviation operators, given their unique operational realities.
We therefore encourage EBAA operators to review the proposal and provide feedback on the operational difficulties they foresee in implementing such a labelling scheme. It is essential to provide the Commission with relevant background information to ensure that business aviation specificities are recognised within the final text.
Feedback should be sent to the EBAA Secretariat at rkok@ebaa.org or friccibuffetti@ebaa.org.
Members’ feedback will be duly considered when structuring an official EBAA response to the Commission on behalf of the entire European business aviation sector. The consultation is open for feedback until 22nd October.
We invite all operators within the EBAA membership to contribute to this important consultation and thank you in advance for your valuable input.
