So far, the 2020s have been an interesting time for European Business aviation. Following the uncertainty of COVID-19 and its impact on aviation as a whole, our industry hit new heights in July 2021, recording our busiest month ever with around 85,000 flights. This trend has continued into 2022, as commercial aviation has struggled to come to terms with rebounding demand of travellers.

The business aviation industry has always been dedicated to ensuring the well-being of the communities we operate in. There are many individual
environmental and social initiatives undertaken by our members across Europe. S.T.A.R.S. aims to consolidate, grow and promote those actions.

Business aviation leaders will convene September 14-15 for a first-of-its-kind Virtual 2020 Business Aviation Sustainability Summit to discuss pathways to accelerate the market for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), the cleaner-burning alternative fuel that, on a gallon-per-gallon basis, often reduce net lifecycle CO2 emissions in excess of 50%, versus conventional jet fuel.
