EBAA signed a declaration, alongside 19 other European aviation associations calling for a bold strategy for a sustainable recovery of European aviation.

Calling for a comprehensive Aviation Relief Programme to rebuild the sector, the report notes the critical importance of restoring the public’s confidence in aviation as a key priority and urgent prerequisite in ensuring recovery.

Geneva/Cologne/Brussels, 23 July 2020 – European Aviation Associations and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) agreed to strengthen efforts to ensure a consistent and safe travel experience for passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this unprecedented global downturn, there are calls from some quarters to ensure that as part of the recovery and return to normal operations process, aircraft operators do so, whether they have received assistance or not, with an improved environmental profile.

High-quality, verified and reliable data is essential to support sound, economic and political decision-making.

Brussels, 30 June 2020. As Europe prepares to reopen on 1 July, the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) today urged governments in the EU and the EFTA Member States, and the United Kingdom, to lift travel restrictions in a carefully coordinated manner.

With the gradual restarting of passenger air transport in the coming weeks, leaders from over a dozen air transport associations representing Europe’s aviation sector today issued an urgent call for EU leaders to prioritise specific decarbonisation initiatives in their allocation of future COVID-19 recovery funding.

Business Aviation, unlike scheduled business models, is not predicated on a system of mass transportation which is dependent on a high seat-load factor to guarantee a sustainable margin; it is an on-demand transportation means, offering gains in time, privacy protection, travel flexibility, and better connectivity to regions.

By the end of 2019, over 1 million passengers will have boarded a business aircraft in Europe, and many factors will have driven this demand, from business and medical, to governmental needs for point-to-point transportation.
