European business aviation to be represented at global youth summit by inspired young leaders
18 July, 2019 (Brussels). For the second year in a row, the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) is sending ten inspired young leaders to represent the industry at the 2019 One Young World Summit.

The annual summit taking place in London from 22-25 October will host talented youth from a range of companies, NGOs, and other public and private institutions. The delegates will meet and learn from a host of global leaders – referred to as Counsellors – including Nobel Peace laureates, heads of state, campaigners, CEOs and activists.
On the new group of delegates, EBAA Secretary-General Athar Husain Khan said, “To deepen our industry’s commitment to sustainable growth, we must engage young leaders early in the process. Their energy and passion are what will help to evolve the business aviation industry. For that reason, we are proud to once again support One Young World, an influential platform for empowering the very people who will be the architects of our future.”
2018 delegate to One Young World, Air Service Basel and Swiss Business Aviation Association representative Laura Gambell added, “One Young World reminded me that it’s okay to think differently and question the norms if you feel like something is not right or can be done better. We met young people who are making the world a better place, and it inspired us to do more in our industry.”
The young representatives will have the opportunity to explore, ideate and extract innovative approaches from other participants and the Counsellors to further drive the business aviation industry’s commitment to corporate environmental and social responsibility – beyond current contributions such as medical and humanitarian services; support of STEM education; a push for more diversity among pilots, technicians and engineers; the development of electric and hybrid aircraft; and the promotion of sustainable alternative jet fuels (SAJF).
