Rebooting the EBAA safety committee.
On November 11th in Cologne, the EBAA Safety Committee named Colin Russell as its new chairman, updated its terms of reference, and committed to re-engaging members to promote business aviation safety
The EBAA Safety Committee reconvened on November 11th in Cologne, Germany, ahead of BASIC 2024 to further its mission to make business aviation safer, better, and stronger for all. During this first meeting, the committee appointed a new chairman, decided on a new terms of reference and urged its committee members to re-engage the EBAA membership.
The Committee’s first order of business was appointing Colin Russell from Flexjet as its new chairman. Colin, a highly respected Safety Director with a wealth of experience and passion for advancing safety, is well-equipped to further the safety-related agenda. Colin’s appointment follows a longstanding chairmanship of Stan Medved from Shell Aviation, who led the Committee for many years with great commitment and prowess.
Furthermore, a decision was taken to update its terms of reference, better aligning itself with the needs of the EBAA Members. Another topic on the agenda was re-engaging the members through creating a dynamic and collaborative environment that encourages member participation.
With a new chairman in place and a commitment to re-engaging members, the Safety Committee will meet four times a year to promote business aviation safety actively.
Members looking to participate in the Committee and get involved in helping further the safety-related agenda should reach out to Maxime Wauters, the Senior Manager of Safety & Regulatory Affairs at mwauters@ebaa.org.
