17 February 2022, Brussels/Toulouse. Today the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC) announce their new partnership in promoting European Business aviation by way of a new, first-of-its-kind Business aviation programme.

The programme, called the “On-demand Air Transport Services – Business aviation” kicks off in February 2022 and aims at better providing STEM students with a more intricate understanding of the Business aviation industry. ENAC will provide an established, educational platform and with EBAA providing the experience knowledge base for the programme content. This programme by both EBAA and ENAC serves as a concerted effort to ensure that there will be enough talent, both today and tomorrow.
“We are very happy to start this partnership with ENAC,” said EBAA Secretary-General Athar Husain Khan. “Addressing the skills-shortage in Business aviation and promoting the sector as an innovative and viable career path is one of our key priorities as an association. This programme is another step towards ensuring sustainable growth of our sector,” he continued.
“We are delighted to start this partnership with EBAA as it contributes to prepare our students to deal with specific aviation industry needs that have been underestimated at training level up to now” said ENAC General Director Olivier Chansou.
ENAC, as the leading aeronautics and aviation university in Europe, welcomes the course related to Business aviation in partnership with EBAA. The course allows to extend the wide array of training by addressing an aspect of civil aviation unknown to some, but which plays a significant role and provides interesting career opportunities for students and young professionals.
The programme will cover;
- The context, activities and challenges such as the ecological transition of on-demand air transport in general and Business aviation in particular,
- The different business models related to chartering and the specificities of on-demand and non-scheduled air transport,
- The market of business aircraft manufacturers and the diversity of their aircraft models,
- The airport ecosystem from a business aviation point of view,
- Flight support and operations as key functions for the preparation and smooth running of on-demand flights,
- Risk management and insurance issues,
- The regulatory framework and its specificities (taxation, registration, traffic rights, social rights, …),
- The helicopter market.
Those interested in the programme can visit the ENAC website here and will take place from 21 February through 25 February, with EBAA members eligible to a discount. Those with more questions can also contact Arthur Thomas at athomas@ebaa.org.
